Due to high demand, the SAB is currently not accepting applications from Dresden, Chemnitz and the districts of Bautzen, Görlitz, Meißen, Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge, Erzgebirgskreis, Mittelsachsen, Vogtlandkreis and Zwickau. Applications are possible from the city of Leipzig, the district of Leipzig and Nordsachsen.

The most important state programme is the digitalisation grant of the Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB), financed from the ERDF 2021 to 2027. It funds digitalisation projects of small and medium-sized enterprises and liberal professions with a registered office or business location in Saxony. In addition there is the SAB digitalisation loan and, for the consulting phase, the federal BAFA consulting grant.
For digitalisation projects of micro and small enterprises up to 50 % of eligible costs, direct costs capped at 60,000 €. For medium-sized enterprises up to 35 %, direct costs capped at 100,000 €. For the first step of micro-enterprises up to 60 %, capped at 10,000 €. A 7 % flat rate for indirect costs is added. If you pay according to a collective agreement during the project, the funding rate increases by 10.
No. Since 17 July 2026 the SAB has not been accepting applications from Dresden, Chemnitz and the rest of Saxony; applications are only possible from the city of Leipzig, the district of Leipzig and Nordsachsen. Whether and when applications reopen is open. It is worth preparing the project now and checking alternatives such as the digitalisation loan.
Planning, concept, preparation and technical implementation of a digitalisation project, the purchase of software and necessary hardware, and the roll-out including training. Not funded are, among other things, pure consulting costs, hardware as the sole project item, standard software, standard websites, classic online marketing, your own staff costs and VAT.
No. You may only start the project after the confirmation email for the application. Signing a contract or paying an invoice already counts as the start. The project must then be completed within twelve months, and payment follows proof of paid expenses.
No. The SAB decides within the available budget, and applications are processed in the order they are received. That makes a complete, well-justified application all the more important.
